How Can Self Hypnosis Help You Lose/Gain Weight
Can hypnotism really help you to lose or gain weight easily?

What is hypnotism

Is it really possible to lose or gain weight using hypnotism? Is hypnotism dangerous? Does hypnotism really works?

If you are reading this article, you probably have put in some thoughts over these questions, didn’t you?  Hypnosis not only can help you to lose or gain weight, it can help you to achieve many other benefits such as quitting smoking, attract good health, develop positive thinking, eliminating bad habits and a host of other benefits.

Does really hypnosis really work?

Most people have irrational fears about attempting hypnotism to remedy their problems. These unfounded fears are usually caused by Hollywood movies and TV cartoons depicting evil hypnotists putting movie heroes into a zombie like state and under the control of the evil hypnotist. Hey man, these are just cartoons and absolutely nonsensical.

So how does hypnotism work? Well, we all do things through our conscious and subconscious mind. Our conscious mind recalls things which are stored in our subconscious mind because the subconscious mind is vast data base storage of our past events and experiences.

Experiences stored there may be correct information at that point in time when it was embedded into the subconscious mind, however, situations and events may have changed to render that piece of information irrelevant or worse, even limiting what you can do and achieve such as gaining or losing weight.

How to use self hypnosis to lose or gain weight

Let’s take for example that your family members and yourself are overweight and since young, you have been hearing your parents complaining on numerous times that no matter what they do, they can't seem to lose weight and that it must be a family genetic factor to be fat and overweight.

These comments were then embedded into your subconscious mind and now, when some kind soul ask you to lose weight, your brain instinctively reacted by telling yourself that it is impossible for you to lose weight because you are genetically programed to be fat and that no matter what you do, you will not be able to lose those extra weight.

Guess what? Of course you will not lose weight because you will think that your weight loss effort will be hopelessly futile and therefore will not even attempt to lose weight or after a half hearted attempt, you gave up. So, your limiting belief is sabotaging your weight loss effort without you even knowing it.

This same analogy can also be applied to people who are hardgainers and who want to gain weight. There are many other situations where hypnosis can help because of limiting beliefs such as "I can never be rich because I did not finish college" or "I find it hard to attract love because I am ugly".  What utterly self destructive limiting beliefs people can have! Luckily, hypnotism can erase these self limiting beliefs.

Most of the time, people are not even aware that they are sabotaging themselves with their own limiting beliefs. This is where hypnotism comes in. When you are in a hypnotic state, you are actually in a very relaxed frame of mind. Unlike popular beliefs, you are still conscious of what is going on and you can get up and walk away immediately if you so wished to.

You are never in the control of the hypnotist therapist. You are only in a very relaxed state (that is nice, isn’t it?), so that your conscious mind is relaxed and your hypnotist can suggest new positive messages into your subconscious mind. This will mean that your therapist can help you clear up negative limiting beliefs from your subconscious mind and suggest new positive beliefs into it, such as, it is possible for you to lose or gain weight and motivate you to do something about your weight or other problems such as having better relationship with your spouse.

Now that you are convinced that hypnotism can be a valuable tool to improve and enhance your life, there is still a problem. Hypnotism sessions can get a tad expensive because usually one session with your therapist will not be enough to clear up the limiting belief clutter which you have thought that was true for so many years.

To compound the problem, there are many more such beliefs and your hypnotist will have to find them, eliminate them and then replace them with positive beliefs. Now, hypnotists charge their services by the hour and this can take a heavy toll on your budget.

However, the overwhelming costs can be set off by you performing self hypnosis. The good news is that you need not be an expert to perform self hypnosis. All you need to do is to get ready made hypnotism CDs or MP3s programs tailored to remedy your problems. Then you just cozy up on your bed, turn on the CDs or MP3s, close your eyes and you will have a self hypnosis session right in your own bedroom.
