How To Use Law Of Attraction To Gain Or Reduce Weight

How does Law Of Attraction work?

Most readers would already know of the best selling book "Think And Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill and many people have even claimed that this phenomenal book changed their way thinking and have seen their personal wealth grow. If people can think and grow rich, then can people think and grow thin? Can merely by thinking thin help you to gain or reduce your weight?

Since the released "The Secret" DVD and book by Rhonda Byrne and her team, the Law of Attraction or LOA, which is the essence of her work is taking the world by storm. If you are not familiar with the law of attraction, then the simplistic definition of the law of attraction is that you attract to you what are in your dominant thoughts and what you are focused upon.

To put it simply, you get what you think. Of course there are more to it than just merely wishful thinking and if you want to know more, the world wide web is full of articles on the application of Law Of Attraction.

Weight loss or gain using law of attraction

Experts in the law of attraction such as Bob Proctor, John Assaraf and others who appeared in "The Secret" explained that recent breakthroughs in neuroscience along with understanding mental laws, reveal why the "law of attraction" work, whether you look at the theory from a metaphysical or a scientific point viewoint in a Larry King show, not so long ago.

Scientists have long known that your subconscious mind is completely neutral and impartial. It will carry out any instructions or thoughts you give to it. In other words, you can use the law of attraction to attract love, to lose or gain weight, attract wealth, quit smoking or whatever benefites that you desire.

Unfortunately, most of us are still running negative programs we picked up from others when we were younger when our subconscious minds were very open and impressionable, or which we have developed over the years as a result of repetition of our own negative thoughts.

Yes, many of you may say that you have been thinking about reducing your weight, but yet you are still fat. You see, when you are thinking of losing weight, you are using your conscious mind, but what is your subconscious mind thinking?

Let me list a few examples:

  1. I am too fat, so I need to lose weight - This thinking neutralise each other. Yes, you want to lose weight, but you are also thinking about being fat. The law of attraction do not react to whether you want it or do not want it, it just delivers to you what you are thinking and focused on. So if you think of fat thoughts and at the same time thinking reducing weight, the conflicting thoughts cancel out each other.

  2. All my family members are fat, so it is in my genes to be fat - I don't need to elaborate on this further. It is a self limiting thought and guess what? If you think you are fat, then you are, simple as that.

  3. I hope to be thin - Now merely hoping is not good enough, the law of attraction will just entertain your hope. You will forever be just hoping.

  4. It is hard to reduce weight - Then you will never reduce weight because it will always be hard for you to reduce weight.

So when you do not reduce weight even if you have always wanted to, it could be because of your self limiting subconscious thoughts. Our own thoughts when repeated often enough are programed into our subconscious mind and most of the time we do not even know that those negative self defeating thoughts are there. These thoughts then become our beliefs, habits and automatic behavior.

To change your results, you must overwrite the old negative programming with new positive programming into your subconscious mind. If you are getting more of the same or negative results in your life such as not being able to attract more wealth, good health or the body shape you that desire, then you have probably been unconsciously running old negative programs and reinforcing them with daily negative thoughts.

How eliminate limiting beliefs and negative thoughts

There are quite a few techniques you can use to get rid of limiting believes and negative thoughts such as using affirmations and visualizations as taught in many self help books. I will not describe how these methods work here as books are written on them. However, from personal experiences, the best method is using self hypnosis. What is self hypnosis?
